Dr Murugasu is a Senior Consultant ENT - Otological Surgeon at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, National University Hospital Systems (NUHS) Singapore. His post-graduate training in Otology - Neurotology was in UK and USA, followed by a Research Fellowship at the California Ear Institute (CEI) at Stanford, USA. In Singapore, he was Head of the ENT Department at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH) and Director of Otology Services NTFGH, NUHS. His clinical interests include Endoscopic Ear Surgery (EES), Cochlear & other Auditory Implants and Lateral Skull Base Surgery. His PhD research areas were in in vivo cochlear mechanics and the role of neural efferent stimulation on Hair Cell potentials & Basilar Membrane mechanics. He is a current member of the Pan-Asian Work Group for Endoscopic Ear Surgery (PAWGEES) & the International Work Group for Endoscopic Ear Surgery (IWGEES). He serves as Adjunct Faculty at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and is actively involved in both the undergraduate and postgraduate education at NUS, and also serves on the MOH-ABMS National Board of Medical Examiners.
