  Primary Nonselective Laryngeal Reinnervation in Thyroid Surgery

Dr. MAT BAKI is a senior consultant of ORL who subspecialized in laryngology. She was awarded Ph.D. in laryngology from the University College London in November 2014. The title of the Ph.D. research is “Laryngeal reinnervation: feasibility studies and development of trial outcome measures”. Her special interests are laryngotracheal stenosis, laryngeal paralysis, voice disorders, phonosurgery, laryngeal carcinoma, and sleep apnoea. She works closely with neurologists in UKMMC in providing laryngeal electromyography test services at the neurology lab. She also collaborates with endocrine surgeons in managing cases of upper airway infiltration by thyroid carcinoma and actively manage iatrogenic acute recurrent laryngeal nerve injury by providing primary intervention in treating this complication.
