Call for Abstracts

Submit

Guidelines

  1. Abstracts must be submitted online via this website by the deadline
  2. Abstract can be submitted in English or Chinese
  3. Abstracts submitted by email, fax, and post will not be accepted
  4. Abstracts submitted after the announced deadline will not be considered
  5. Do not submit multiple copies of the same abstract
  6. A receipt of successful submission will be generated by email
  7. The conference will not accept responsibility for any abstract that has not been properly submitted according to the instructions
  8. The scientific committee reserves the right to accept or reject an abstract and whether the submission is accepted as a free paper, oral poster or video presentation and its decision is final
  9. The presenting author will be notified on the status of their abstract when the abstract review process is completed
  10. A presenting author whose abstract has been accepted for free paper, oral poster or video presentation is required to confirm their conference attendance to present their abstract
  11. All accepted free paper, oral poster or video will be delivered pre-recorded with live Q&A
  12. Presenting author who require proof of conference abstract presentation are required to apply for both an attendance certificate and a certificate of abstract presentation and pay the appropriate application fee 

Format

  • Language: English or Chinese
  • Arial font / 微軟正黑體 字型
  • Presenting author: name, email address, contact number, position, department, institution, and country
  • Co-authors: name, institution, and country
  • Field category: Audiology, Facial Nerve, Facial Plastic Surgery, Head & Neck Surgery, Laryngology, Otology & Neurotology, Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, Rhinology, Sleep Surgery, Speech Therapy
  • Presentation type: free paper, oral poster, or video
  • Abstract title: Limit to 25 words / characters
  • Abstract content: Limit to 250 words / characters
  • Do not include references and keywords in the abstract
  • Abbreviations should be spelled out, in parenthesis, in its first use in the abstract

Video

  1. Presentation Type: Video with narration & Live Q&A
  2. Delivery Mode: Online with pre-recorded video
  3. Language: English or Chinese
  4. Surgery Video Schedule:
    a) Session A: 1 December 2022 09:00 to 12:00
    b) Session B: 1 December 2022 14:00 to 17:00
    c) Duration: 5 to 10 minutes
    d) Please be present online during your scheduled pre-recorded video time and live Q&A session 
  5. File Format: Video + narration + subtitle
    a) Widescreen digital (16:9 ratio)
    b) Arial font / 微軟正黑體 字型 for subtitles
    c) Video recording in .mp4 format

Free Paper

  1. Presentation Type: Oral Presentation & Live Q&A
  2. Delivery Mode: Onsite or Online with Pre-recorded Video or PowerPoint
  3. Language: English or Chinese
  4. Presentation Schedule:
    a) Session C: 2 December 2022 09:00 to 12:15
    b) Session D: 2 December 2022 13:30 to 16:45
    c) Duration: 15 minutes
    d) Please be present onsite or online during your scheduled pre-recorded video time and live Q&A session
  5. File format:
    a) Submit your pre-recording in .mp4 format or MS PowerPoint (Windows platform)
    b) The conference does not support MAC platform / software
    c) Title, Author(s) and related organization are shown in the first page of presentation
    d) Widescreen digital (16:9 ratio)
    e) Arial font / 微軟正黑體字型
    f) Video clip(s) / animation embedded in the PowerPoint file are allowed.
    g) Bring a backup of the original video clip in case the clip cannot be shown through the presentation
  6. Submit your pre-recorded oral presentation .mp4 recording or MS PowerPoint (Windows) to entconf@ent.cuhk.edu.hk by Sunday 27 November 2022

Oral Poster

  1. Presentation Type: Oral Poster & Live Q&A
  2. Delivery Mode: Onsite or Online with PDF Poster and Pre-recorded Video
  3. Language: English or Chinese
  4. Oral Poster Schedule:
    a) Session E: 3 December 2022 09:00 to 12:15
    b) Session F: 4 December 2022 09:00 to 12:15
    c) Duration: 10 minutes
    d) Please be present onsite or online during your scheduled pre-recorded video time and live Q&A session 
  5. File Format:
    a) Submit a I-page digital poster in PDF to visually present your research / clinical results / findings
    b) Submit a 10-minute pre-recorded video presentation in .mp4 format to present your PDF poster
    c) You can use the attached PowerPoint slide as template to create your 1-page PDF poster
    d) Widescreen digital (16:9 ratio)
    e) Arial font / 微軟正黑體 字型 
  6. Submit your digital poster as a PDF file & your 10-minute .mp4 video recording to entconf@ent.cuhk.edu.hk by Sunday 27 November 2022
