Dr. Alexander Vlantis is an Clinical Professional Consultant in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery of The Chinese University of Hong Kong at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong. His interest is head and neck oncological surgery, including surgery for recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma. He coordinates the undergraduate ENT programme for Medical Students of The Chinese University of Hong Kong Medical Faculty. Prior to his present appointment he worked in South Africa and The Netherlands.

Clinical, Teaching and Research Activities

The Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery of The Chinese University of Hong Kong is a professorial unit. The Department is a tertiary referral centre and provides a full range of head and neck services to the community, managing advanced head and neck oncological cases as well as a wide range of benign head and neck conditions. Supervised teaching and training of medical students, interns, basic surgical trainees, higher surgical trainees and family physicians is provided. The department is involved in a wide range of research in areas of oncology. The department has a close working relationship with other departments in the hospital and university, in Hong Kong and internationally.
