The Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) will launch an Oroeasy mobile app in 2021. This mobile app is funded by the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund (SIE Fund) and the Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services (ORKTS). This app is designed for the speech therapists, patients and the general public.
CUHK Oroeasy app is intended to provide a convenient way for the speech therapists to register the patients in need, tailor-made suitable oral motor training programmes for their patients, and keep track on the compliance of the patients in performing the exercises.
The patients could follow the tailored-made oral motor exercise training programme by watching videos. The progress in performing the training programme could be monitored by the speech therapist.
The mobile app could also provide an easy-to-access mean for the general public to select and follow the oral motor exercises.
The aim of this webinar is to introduce different functions of the ‘Oroeasy’ mobile app and give demonstration on how to use it. Speech therapist who registered as the trainer in the app can create training programme from a range of video clips of different oral motor exercises to your patients. The Training program can comprise different oral motor exercises, including the face, cheek, lips, tongue, soft palate, and speech-related exercises. You are free to create trainee account for your patients and assign the specific training program to them. You can also keep track of your patients' compliance in performing the oral motor exercise Training Programme.
Upon completion of webinar, you can enjoy a two-year free subscription to Oroeasy Trainer Account to enjoy full range of Trainer functions of the app.
The Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund (SIE Fund), as a catalyst for social innovation in Hong Kong, connects our community with different sectors, including businesses, NGOs, academics and philanthropies to create social impact through innovative solutions that address poverty and social exclusion. Mostly through intermediaries, the Fund provides visionary individuals and organisations with diverse resources in support of research, capacity building and the entire life cycle of innovative programmes, from idea incubation and seed funding to implementation and eventual scale-up. The ultimate goal is to foster an ecosystem where social entrepreneurs can thrive and innovative ideas, products and services can benefit society by meeting underserved needs, unleashing underutilised talents and more. SIE Fund has been set up with a HK$500 million allocation from the Lotteries Fund. Its operation is overseen by a Task Force under the Commission on Poverty.
