Biography
Simon Carney is Professor of ENT Surgery at Finders University in Adelaide, South Australia. He has authored 115 full publications,15 book chapters, 2 surgical dissection manuals and has received several awards for his contribution to ENT research and teaching. He has received over $4.5M in research funding and his work has over 4000 citations with an h-index of 38.
He is a Past-President of the ANZ Rhinologic Society, Vice-Chairman and Director of the not-for-profit organisation Asia-Pacific Otolaryngology Surgical Training, a former member of The Medical Board of Australia and a member of the Commonwealth Government Panel of Clinical Experts. He is Associate Editor of The American Journal of Rhinology and Allergy and on the Editorial Boards of Rhinology and Clinical Otolaryngology.

Dr. Raymond K. TSANG graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1994 and received his training in otolaryngology in Prince of Wales Hospital, Chinese University of Hong Kong. He obtained his specialist qualification in otolaryngology and fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2001 and then sub-specialized in the field of head and neck surgery. He received his Master of Surgery degree from the University of Hong Kong in 2015.
Before relocating to Singapore, Dr. Tsang was the Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery, University of Hong Kong. In 2023, Dr. Tsang took up his current position as Associate Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery in the National University of Singapore and Senior Consultant in the National University Hospital.
Dr. Tsang’s clinical research interests include application of robotic surgery in head and neck surgery, minimally invasive surgery in the head and neck region, endoscopic surgery for anterior skull base lesions and swallowing disorders in patients after head and neck cancer treatment. Dr. Tsang was part of the team that performed the first clinical trial of the next generation of flexible robot for application in transoral head and neck surgery in 2017.
He has published more than 100 peer review papers and book chapters. Dr. Tsang had been the President of the Hong Kong Society of Otorhinolarynology – Head and Neck Surgery, the President of the Hong Kong Head and Neck Society and the Chairman of the Head and Neck Subspecialty Board of the Hong Kong College of Otorhinolaryngologists.

Dr Ahmad practices general otolaryngology with clinical interests in Head and Neck, Salivary, thyroid, Nasal and sinus diseases including general ENT problems in children and adults.
He is an experienced sialendoscopist and is a faculty member of international society of Sialendoscopists, Geneva, Switzerland with active involvement in teaching and conducting workshops in Sialendoscopy.
He is on the editorial board of four medical journals related to medical and surgical fields.
His thesis for Masters was on adenoids and middle ear diseases in children and this was approved and awarded masters degree in 1983.
He has lectured in a number of scientific meetings and has been a Key-Note Lecturer in several International Meetings. He participates and instructs in international workshops focussing on management of salivary diseases and sinus problems. He has about 75 Publications in peer reviewed international journals and written chapters in a few text books.
He is the Chief editor of recently published 3-volume textbook entitled “Symptom Oriented Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery”
He is actively involved in teaching and examining undergraduate and postgraduate medical scholars and teaches masters of audiology scholars and supervises PhD scholars.

Dr. Siu-Kwan NG is an ENT surgeon in private practice. He is also the Clinical Associate Professor (honorary) of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Apart from general Ear, Nose and Throat practice, his special clinical interests include thyroid and salivary gland surgeries. He is an executive committee member of the Asia-Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery and the Executive Board member of the international Multidisciplinary Salivary Gland Society. He is interested in training and has been a regular invited faculty in various conferences and hands-on training courses, both locally and overseas.

Dr Catherine Po Ling CHAN is currently the resident specialist in Department of Ear, Nose and Throat in Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong. She also serves as the Clinical Assistant Professor (Honorary) in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).
Dr Chan obtained her medical degree from The CUHK in 2015. She then pursued a research master’s degree (MRes) in Medical Robotics and Image Guided Intervention with Distinction at Imperial College London in 2016. After completing her specialist training in Otorhinolaryngology in Hong Kong in 2023, she decided to further pursue post-fellowship training on head and neck surgery for her interests in salivary gland diseases and head and neck oncology.
Her research interests includes multi-omics deep learning analysis in head and neck oncology, image-guided intervention in the head and neck regions, augmented reality applications, and medical robotics.

Dr. Chan graduated from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine in London, followed by specialist training in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck surgery at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions with advanced training in Head and Neck surgery, microvascular reconstruction and robotics. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Chairman of the head and neck Surgery Board, Hong Kong College of Otolaryngologists. His research interests lie in early diagnosis and treatment of head and neck cancers, the microbiome in head and neck cancers and the application of robotics in Head and Neck Surgery.

Dr. Ronald Lai is an Associate Consultant in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at United Christian Hospital and Tseung Kwan O Hospital in Hong Kong. He is also an Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery of The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Dr. Lai received his medical degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He was awarded the College Medal for best trainee research presentation competition and the Thomas Cheung Education Fund Scholarship during his specialty training. Upon completing a 3-year post-fellowship training in head and neck cancer surgery at Prince of Wales Hospital and United Christian Hospital in Hong Kong, he also obtained the IFHNOS Global Online Fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery and Oncology with Honours.
Dr. Lai was awarded the Hospital Authority Corporate Scholarship to undergo training in head and neck cancer surgery with Professor Johannes FAGAN and endoscopic sinus & skull base surgery with Professor Darlene LUBBE respectively at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
Dr. Lai is currently a trainer in head and neck surgery at the Kowloon East Cluster, Hong Kong. In addition to head & neck resection and reconstructive surgeries, he has developed special interests in dysphagia management and minimally invasive surgeries including radiofrequency ablation of benign thyroid nodules, sialendoscopy and transoral robotic surgery.

Dr. LAU is the 2018 outstanding young fellow of the Hong Kong College of Otorhinolaryngologist. He is currently an Associate Consultant in Prince of Wales Hospital and a Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at The Chinese University of Hong Kong as well as a Global Fellow with the International Federation of Head and Neck Oncologic Societies. He currently works with the CUHK Head and Neck team with special interests in Virtual Surgical planning, Tranoral Robotic surgeries and Thyroid radiofrequency ablation procedures.

Dr. Yeung is a Consultant in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the United Christian Hospital and Tseung Kwan O Hospital in Hong Kong. He is also an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery of The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Dr. Yeung received his medical degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and completed his specialty training in Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the United Christian Hospital under the guidance of Dr. Victor ABDULLAH. He then went on to complete a 2-year post-fellowship training in head and neck cancer surgery at the Prince of Wales Hospital and United Christian Hospital in Hong Kong.
Dr. Yeung is a specialist in head and neck cancer surgery and now serves as a member of the Head and Neck Surgery Board in the Hong Kong College of Otorhinolaryngologists. He has completed the IFHNOS Global Online Fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery and Oncology with Honours. He is also a recipient of the Thomas Cheung Educational Fund Scholarship and Hospital Authority Corporate Scholarship to undergo hands-on training in head and neck cancer surgery at the University of Cape Town with Professor Johannes FAGAN. He was elected to be the Distinguished Young Fellow of the Hong Kong College of Otorhinolaryngologists in 2017, and he received the Hospital Authority Young Achiever Award in 2021 and Alumni Teaching Award 2024 from the Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Eugene Nicholas Myers is an oncologist and otolaryngologist and a leader in the treatment of head and neck cancer. He has served on the faculty of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine since 1972, when he became chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology. He is the author or co-author of leading texts in the field of head and neck cancer, and has chaired and served on the boards of the preeminent societies and associations in the field.

Professor Carlos Jose Cenjor Espanol is a distinguished figure in the field of Otorhinolaryngology, renowned for his expertise and leadership. Currently serving as the Head of the Otorhinolaryngology Service at the Jiménez Díaz Foundation, Villalba General Hospital, and Infanta Elena Hospital within the Quirón Salud Group University Centers, Professor Cenjor Espanol has made significant contributions to the medical community. Woojin Cho is Board certified in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and the Representative Director of Withsim Clinic in Bundang(near Seoul), South Korea. He graduated from Korea University in Seoul, South Korea, and trained in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Korea University Anam Hospital. He maintains an active busy practice using Ultrasound, focused exclusively on patients with a lump on the neck including Thyroid nodules, Salivary disease, Lymphadenopathy and various Soft tissue diseases. He is also active in research on Office-based Head and Neck Ultrasound performed by Surgeons and Ultrasonography-guided Procedures (Radiofrequency ablation, Sclerotherapy and Core needle biopsy). He has delivered over 100 scientific presentations worldwide and published more than 20 peer reviewed articles and chapters on medical textbooks, mainly dealing with head and neck ultrasound. As an executive board member of Korean Association of Otorhinolaryngologists and Korean Society of Head and Neck Surgery, he has been in charge of over 20 international and domestic head and neck ultrasound courses for surgeons (Hong Kong, Japan and New Zealand, etc.). Dr. Ferrarotto is a Professor and Director of Head and Neck Oncology Clinical Research of Department of Thoracic/Head and Neck Medical. In this role, she dedicates time to patient care as well as to clinical and translational research. Her work focuses on clinical development of new personalized cancer therapies for patients with head and neck malignancies, with a particular interest in salivary gland cancers and other rarer tumor subtypes. She has conducted multiple investigator-initiated trials. Dr. Ferrarotto was a recipient of the MD Anderson Jeffrey Lee Cousins Fellowship in Lung Cancer in 2013, the ASCO Career Development Award in 2016, the Khalifa grant in 2016, a Stiefel grant in 2018, an Institutional Research Grant in 2020, three pilot grants from the Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma Research Foundation in 2000, 2021, and 2022, a DOD Impact Award in 2021, and an R03 grant in 2022.

Dr. Shirish Bhalchandra Ghan is an ENT specialist with nearly three decades of experience. He is one of the pioneers in the field of Sialendoscopy in the World and is a board member of the International Multidisciplinary Salivary Gland Society.
His fields of work are Sialendoscopy (salivary gland endoscopic surgery), Otology (microscopic ear surgery), Endoscopic sinus surgery and micro laryngology. He trained in Sialendoscopy under Dr Francis Marchal, Geneva, in 2010. He has since then gone on to give lectures at various international fora. He has also been a faculty at several hands-on sialendoscopy courses at Geneva, Mumbai, Alexandria, Riyadh, Dubai. He has transmitted live surgeries to the courses in Geneva.
He has designed a hands-on training course at IMMAST Mumbai. His work is mentioned in the recent edition of Bailey and Love hand book of surgery. He is a keen badminton player, a cyclist and a trekker. He follows Vipassana meditation.

Patrick Ha, MD is a Professor and the Chief of Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS) at the University of California, San Francisco. He is also holds the Irwin Mark Jacobs and Joan Klein Jacobs Distinguished Professorship in Head and Neck Surgery. After graduating magna cum laude from Harvard University, he received his medical degree from The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Ha completed his one-year internship at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland, and he also completed an otolaryngology residency from the same institution, followed by advanced training in head and neck surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. In addition to his clinical and research work, he serves as the Medical Director for the UCSF Mission Bay Adult Services.
Dr. Ha’s clinical expertise covers the full breadth of head and neck surgery, including a focus on thyroid and parathyroid surgery, as well as endoscopic laser and transoral robotic approaches for throat cancers. His current area of research is focused on the molecular changes occurring in salivary gland adenoid cystic carcinoma, and he has held multiple NIH and foundation grants towards this aim. Dr. Hanwei Peng is the Chair of Thyroid Surgery Research Center of Shantou University Medical College (SUMC) and the Chair of the Department of Head and Neck Surgery, SUMC, with a title of Professor and Chief Surgeon. After graduating from Sun Yat-sen University with a PhD, Prof. Peng worked at Cancer Hospital of Shantou University for 25 years. He is interested in clinical research focusing on head and neck cancers, particularly reconstructive surgery for head and neck defects following ablative surgery, as well as basic research in oncogenesis mechanism of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and liquid biopsy for early diagnosis of head and neck SCC. Prof. Peng is now one of the top ranked scholars in the field of Head and Neck Surgery in Guangdong Province in southern China. He serves as co-Chair of Guangdong Anticancer Association Head and Neck Cancer Committee, co-Chair of Guangdong Thyroid Association, Chair of Shantou Medical Association H&N Surgeon Committee.

Dr Amy B.W. Chan is a histopathologist subspecialized in head and neck pathology and dental pathology. She currently holds the posts of Chief of Service (Anatomical and Cellular Pathology) of Prince of Wales Hospital, the honorary clinical associate professor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the honorary associate professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Hong Kong, and the executive board member of Multidisciplinary Salivary Gland Society. She has made contributions to the field through publications on the topics of head and neck and dental pathology. Dr. Chan has also been invited as a symposium moderator, faculty member, and speaker at both local and international conferences. Additionally, she serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for peer-reviewed journals, including Head and Neck, Journal of Clinical Pathology, and Histopathology.

Dr. Hanson Leung is currently an Associate Consultant in the Department of Imaging and Interventional Radiology, Prince of Wales Hospital. He graduated from University of Hong Kong and has subsequent received clinical radiology training in Prince of Wales Hospital and was conferred fellow of Royal College of Radiologists in the year 2020 and Fellow of Hong Kong College of Radiologists in 2023. Having received subspecialty training in Head and Neck Radiology, his major clinical and research interests include advanced magnetic resonance imaging of head and neck tumours and cranial nerves, ultrasound and multimodality imaging of thyroid and parathyroid, and image-guided intervention of the head and neck region. His other clinical interests also include Diagnostic Neuroradiology, Interventional Neuroradiology including acute stroke intervention, and Thoracic Radiology. He currently also acts as honorary clinical assistant professor for Department of Imaging and interventional Radiology, the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Dr. Shirley Liu is the Head of the Endocrine Surgery Division of the Department of Surgery of New Territories East Cluster Hospitals since 2018. She is also the Chief of the Department of Surgery of Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and the Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Surgery of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Dr. Liu subspecializes in endocrine and bariatric surgery. She is an active surgeon serving a number of leadership roles in the surgical community of Hong Kong. Apart from being the Councillor of College of Surgeons of Hong Kong, she is currently the founding Vice President of Hong Kong Association of Endocrine Surgeons, the President of Hong Kong Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, the Honorary Secretary of Hong Kong Society of Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery and the council member of Hong Kong Society of Minimal Access Surgery.

Dr Cheryl Ng is a Rheumatologist in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Hong Kong. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2013. Dr. Takeshi Matsunobu is an associated professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Nippon Medical School, Japan. He obtained his Ph. D. degree in 2002 from Keio University. From 1997-1999, he joined Professor Jochen Schacht’s laboratory at Kresge Hearing Research Institute, The University of Michigan, USA as postdoctoral fellow to work on inner ear biochemistry. He has joined Association Research in Otolaryngology as an active member since 1997. Guiqing Liao is academic leader of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Guanghua School and Hospital of Stomatology, Sun Yat-Sen University. He is the Chair of Academic Group of the Salivary Gland Disease of China, Deputy Chair of Academic Group of the Oral and Maxillofacial - Head and Neck Surgery Oncology of China. He is also the former president of Committee of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Guangdong Province. Professor Liao is a well-known surgeon in the field of oral and maxillofacial oncology and reconstruction, including skull base surgery. He has published more than 200 journal articles.

Eddy Wai Yeung Wong graduated at the medical faculty of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). After that, he developed an interest in head & neck surgery. Prof. Ilana Doweck, MD, is Chair of The Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Carmel Medical Center, affiliated to The Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel, and Immediate Past President of The Israeli Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery.
Prof Doweck obtained her MD degree from the Technion Medical School, Haifa, Israel, and completed her residency at Carmel Medical Center, Haifa, followed by fellowship in Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery at the University of Tennessee, Memphis and at The University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. Following her fellowship Prof. Doweck lead the head and neck cancer surgery and oncology team in Israel and served in multiple roles within the Israeli Society of Head and Neck Surgery and Oncology. She served as the President of the Israel Society of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery at 2013-2019, and currently Prof Doweck serves as The Head of Section of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at The Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, Technion, as well as counselor of The Israeli Cancer Association and member of the Scientific Council of the Israel Medical Association.
Prof. Doweck academic focus is on head and neck cancer and oncology, including outcomes based research in head and neck with particular focus on outcome related to organ preservation and chemoradiotherapy, thyroid cancer, metastatic and recurrent, advanced and metastatic cutaneous SCC as well as translational research in head and neck cancer.

I am Prof. Dr. S. Khalid Ahmed Ashrafi, an ENT specialist with over 30 years of experience. I recently retired from my role as Head of the Department of ENT and Head & Neck Surgery at Karachi Medical & Dental College (KMU) and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. During my career, I held key leadership positions, including Vice President and Treasurer at the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) and served as Principal at KMU.
I hold an MBBS from Dow Medical College, FCPS from both Pakistan and Bangladesh, and FRCS from the Royal College of Glasgow, along with an MCPS in Health Professions Education.

Dr. Revadi Govindaraju is a medical lecturer and consultant otorhinolaryngologist at the Department of ENT, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya. She has completed a 3-year subspeciality training in Rhinology. This training included a one-year tenure of research fellowship in Adelaide with the world-renowned sinus surgeon Professor PJ Wormald. Her main research involved anatomy of the paranasal sinus, anterior skull base and lacrimal apparatus for which she was awarded a fellowship by the esteemed.
Besides undergraduate and postgraduate clinical teaching, she also mentors local and international fellows for the Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery fellowship. Her research interest among others are chronic rhinosinusitis, allergic rhinitis, olfaction, and taste, sinonasal tumors, endoscopic skull base surgery, the anatomy of the paranasal sinus and skull base and orbital and endoscopic lacrimal surgery. Her research works have been published in peer-reviewed journals and chapters of skull base surgery books. She actively participates as an invited facilitator/demonstrator for basic functional endoscopic sinus surgery and the advanced skull base cadaveric workshops.
Dr. Revadi is also an active member of the Malaysian Society of Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. She is the current Honorary Treasurer of the society and the board member of the ASEAN Rhinologic society.

Dr. Chow is an experienced ENT specialist with special interests in endoscopic endonasal surgery for treating different sinonasal diseases, including rhinosinusitis, nasolacrimal duct obstruction, benign and malignant sinonasal tumours and recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma. He is also a key player in the field of endoscopic skull base surgery at the PWH. His current research interest is olfactory training in patients who suffer from smell problems.

Dr Vlantis is a Clinical Professional Consultant and Associate Professor of Practice in Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His main field of clinical interest is head and neck oncological surgery, including surgery for recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma. He is involved with and contributes to the undergraduate ENT programme for Medical Students of the Faculty of Medicine of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prior to his present appointment he worked in South Africa and in The Netherlands.

Anil Tejbhan Ahuja obtained his radiology training in India (Seth G.S. Medical College, K.E.M Hospital & B.Y.L. Nair Hospital, Mumbai) and England and began his academic career at the Department of Imaging & Interventional Radiology of the Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1988.
Professor Ahuja has a keen interest in the imaging of head and neck diseases. His research is focused on neck masses, lymph nodes, thyroid, parathyroid, salivary gland and head & neck tumours.
Professor Ahuja has published extensively in peer reviewed medical journals, lectured at international conferences, held hands-on workshops and is Assistant Editor for Clinical Radiology. He has edited ten books in radiology and authored numerous book chapters.

Claudio Roberto Cernea graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (FMUSP) in 1978. He dedicated himself to his university career at that educational institution, obtaining a doctorate in clinical surgery in 1991 and a full professorship in head and neck, in 2002.
He is currently a doctor at the Hospital das Clínicas of FMUSP. He works mainly in the following areas: head and neck surgery, thyroid tumors, skin tumors, salivary tumors, head and neck tumors, skull base tumors, squamous cell carcinoma and craniofacial surgery.
He joined the São Paulo Academy of Medicine as a full member on March 7, 2012, becoming the second occupant of chair No. 101, whose patron is Geraldo Horácio de Paula Souza.

Waitsz Chang is the Chief of the Otology and Neurotology Division in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, with special interest in hearing degeneration, auditory implantation, vestibular diseases, tinnitus, transcanal endoscopic ear surgery and skull base surgery. She pioneered endoscopic ear surgery in Hong Kong since 2016 and performed the first transcanal skull base surgery in the same year. She performed most of the auditory implants and is the leader of many of the otology research in her centre. She is currently the Assistant Director of Institute of Human Communicative Research, trainer of The Hong Kong College of Otorhinolaryngology, Neurosurgery, the Asia Pacific Otorhinolaryngologic Surgical Training Group (APOST) and the World Skull Base Group. She is a member of the International Working Group on Endoscopic ear surgery (IWGEES), secretary of the Pan-Asia Working Group on Endoscopic Ear Surgery (PAWGEES). She has collaborations with John Hopkin’s Centre for research related to elderly hearing loss and dementia.

Richard Harvey currently works as a dedicated rhinologist (nose, sinus, allergy and endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery) at Macquarie University and St Vincent’s Hospitals in Sydney. He is the program head of Rhinology & Skull Base Surgery at the Applied Medical Research Center of UNSW and is Professor at both the University of NSW and Macquarie University. After several years of post-training fellowships, including formal fellowships in the USA and UK, Richard practices in Sydney, Australia, as one of only a few dedicated rhinologists in the country. He has authored over 250 publications, books, book chapters and completed his PhD in trans-nasal skull base surgery. Richard has presented over 500 lectures and talks on sino-nasal disease management. He is the current Editor-in-chief of the Australian Journal of Otolaryngology as well as an associate editor for the Cochrane ENT disorders group currently. Richard contributes to the editorial board for Rhinology Journal, American Journal of Rhinology & Allergy and the International Forum of Allergy and Rhinology and is actively involved in research programs in Sydney. Along with training surgeons in both developed and emerging countries, Richard runs a series of courses with Sydney every year to further rhinologic education and training in Australia.

Alice Kwai Yee Siu graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Sydney. After completion of her specialist training in otorhinolaryngology, Dr. Siu pursued a sub-speciality training in paediatric ear, nose and throat surgery.

Leo Kam Tong Yeung has been serving as Associate Consultant in Prince of Wales Hospital since 2019, he is primarily responsible for minimally invasive endoscopic endonasal skull base surgery service in New Territories East Cluster (NTEC); he established endoscopic endonasal skull base surgery registry since 2020, prospectively monitoring surgical outcomes and implement timely improvement to the service.
Dr. Yeung developed the use of intraoperative navigation, intraoperative doppler ultrasound and intraoperative indocyanine green injection to avoid Internal Carotid Artery injury with 0% ICA injury since 2020 and more than 180 cases performed. 93% optic nerve decompression rate. 77% clinical improvement of vision.
He collaborated with ENT surgeons, Endocrinologists and Anesthetists to provide precision care for transsphenoidal surgery patients. He developed smell preservation transsphenoidal surgery using single nostril technique.

Andrew Chun Lok Wong is a Specialist in Otorhinolaryngology and Consultant at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Tuen Mun Hospital, Hospital Authority, Hong Kong. He completed his specialist training in Otorhinolaryngology at Hong Kong and was conferred Fellow of the Hong Kong College of Otorhinolaryngologists, Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine in 2018. He was awarded the College Medal from the Hong Kong College of Otorhinolaryngologists. In year 2022, he underwent a 1 year clinical and research fellowship in ENT Sleep Surgery at Wollongong Hospital, and the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research in Sydney, under Professor Stuart MacKay. Ehab Hanna, M.D., FACS, is an internationally recognized head and neck surgeon and expert in the treatment of patients with skull base tumors and head and neck cancer. After earning his medical degree, Dr. Hanna completed a surgery internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in skull base surgery and head and neck surgical oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. In 1994 he was appointed as faculty in the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he quickly rose to the rank of Full Professor. He was then recruited to MD Anderson in 2004 to lead their Skull Base Tumor Program and the Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Center.
Dr. Hanna is currently Professor and Vice-chair of the Department of Head and Neck Surgery with a joint appointment in the Department of Neurosurgery, MD Anderson Cancer Center. He also serves as Adjunct Professor of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. He served as Medical Director of the Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Center for 20 years (2004-2023) and is currently Director of the Skull Base Tumor Program. For the last 15 years, Dr. Hanna has consistently been named one of America's Best Doctors and Top Doctors in Cancer.
In addition to patient care, Dr. Hanna is actively engaged in clinical and translational research with emphasis on skull base tumors. He authored over 350 publications, invited articles, book chapters, and editorials. She is a board member of the multidisciplinary Italian Association of Head and Neck Oncology (AIOCC). She is the coordinator of the Thyroid Cancer Guidelines on behalf of the Italian Medical Oncology Association (AIOM). She is involved in the Guidelines Task Force of the European Society Medical Oncology Guidelines (ESMO) for thyroid and salivary gland cancers. She is currently the Director of Translational Oncology Unit at IRCCS ICS Maugeri and Associate Professor of Medical Oncology at University of Pavia.

Ester Orlandi has more than 20 years’ experience in radiation oncology in head and neck cancer. She currently is type-B Researcher at the University of Pavia and holds the position as Chief of the Clinical Department at CNAO. She is focused in managing rare tumors, particularly in the head and neck, and is skilled in advanced radiotherapy techniques, side effects modelling, and personalized therapy. She focuses on testing new combinations of beam qualities and drugs to improve cancer treatment effectiveness.
She is involved in several Italian and international clinical trials and registries as PI or sub investigator. From March 2020 up to today, she is a representative of the EORTC Head and Neck Group for the Radiation Oncology Scientific Council (ROSC). Since January 2021 she has been ESMO faculty member for the Head and Neck Cancer Group, and since December 2022 she has been scientific committee member for ESMO 2024. Since April 2019 up to today she is Counselor of the Italian Association of Head and Neck Oncology (AIOCC). She has been appointed as the senior scientific advisor at Shanghai Proton and Heavy Ion Center (SPHIC). She is the author and coauthor of 7 book chapters, 229 scientific journal articles impacted peer review journals.

Alvaro Sánchez Barrueco graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2007, and he obtained the title of Otolaryngology in 2011. He awarded a Doctorate Cum Laude in 2017. He has been a member of the ENT and Cervicofacial Surgery Department at the Fundación Jiménez Díaz University Hospital since 2012, and at the General University Hospital of Villalba since 2014. Both hospitals are located in Madrid, Spain.
Dr Sánchez Barrueco focuses on salivary gland pathologies. He is the author of several articles on the fundamentals of chronic obstructive sialadenitis and sialoendoscopy, and the co-director of the Sialoendoscopy Hands-on Course in Madrid. He is also the co-editor of the first Spanish-language book on this surgical procedure.

Soma Subramaniam is an ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist and surgeon at Parkway East Hospital, Singapore.
His specialty is in primary and revision endoscopic sinus-related surgery, and ambulatory ENT allergy diagnosis and treatment. His other areas of expertise include sialendoscopy and thyroid surgery.
He was the inaugural clinical director and ENT senior consultant at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH), Jurong Medical Centre and Jurong Community Hospital.
Dr. Soma graduated from the National University of Ireland and underwent postgraduate ENT training in Singapore. He received the Health Manpower Development Plan Award to pursue a one-year clinical fellowship at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Centre, James Cancer Centre and Solove Research Institute. During this period, he gained clinical and academic exposure to various aspects of advanced sinus-related, as well as head and neck tumour-related pathology, with a special emphasis on endoscopic endonasal approaches to nasal and skull base tumours. He also had the opportunity to spend time at the dedicated ENT allergy service, managing patients with ENT-related allergy.
At NTFGH, he set up the hospital’s multi-disciplinary skull base team with the neurosurgery service to perform various endoscopic skull base procedures. He was also part of the ENT team that performed the first five cases of minimal-access endoscopic transaxillary thyroid surgery at NTFGH, as well as the earliest transoral endoscopic thyroid surgery performed in at the National University Health Services (NUHS). He has been practising medicine for more than 20 years.
Besides his clinical work, Dr. Soma was the associate programme director of NUHS’ otolaryngology residency programme. He then took over as the undergraduate director for the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine’s ENT curriculum. He is currently an adjunct assistant professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. treatment of head and neck tumors was listed as a national key clinical

Michael Chi Fai Tong, a clinical professor of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, as well as the Director of the Institute of Human Communicative Research at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, is specialized in the fields of otology, neurotology, and skull base surgery. He was the chief of the Division of Otorhinolaryngology of the Department of Surgery from 2003 to 2007, the Head of Academic Divisions of the Department from 2007 to 2015, and the Chairman of the Department from 2015 to 2024.
Recently, Professor Tong has been pioneering the development of advanced endoscopic ear surgery techniques, medical robotics, and the application of artificial intelligence in medicine and technological tools for neurosciences. Paralleled with that, his interest has extended to the broader field of medicine, including epidemiology and public health, especially in elderly health. He is also a key member of the Brain and Mind Institute, the Gerald Choa Neuroscience Institute, the INNOHK Multiscale Medical Robotics Centre, and the CUHK T-Stone Robotics Institute.
Having led the relevant clinical research teams, Professor Tong has numerous successful grants and over 280 peer-reviewed publications, which have resulted in a national and international reputation for his department in the field of general otology, cochlear and auditory brainstem implantation, and nasopharyngeal cancer research. He has also been interested in developing technical innovations for minimally invasive surgery in otorhinolaryngology and head and neck surgery.
Professor Tong has been visiting globally as an educator for the past 30 years, sharing his clinical and surgical experience in hearing implants, endoscopic ear surgery, and related fields of the specialty. He has been a key leader in chairing international conferences and committees, and he co-founded the World Chinese Academy of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the sole notable organization to represent greater China for IFOS, the international ENT community.
Apart from teaching, research, and clinical work, Professor Tong advocates for community service to educate the public on health issues related to the ear, nose, and throat. As the Founder and Chairman of a non-profit organization, Hear Talk Foundation, since 2003, he has enlisted voluntary service from professionals to offer service to the underprivileged. The Foundation has operated regular charitable missions to mainland China to provide free medical and surgical treatment to the poor and surgical training to local specialists. Currently, he is in private practice and he is an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the CUHK.
Dr. Lee developed his special interests on rhinology, endoscopic skull base surgery in particular endoscopic nasopharyngectomy and surgery for sleep apnea. Dr. Lee had been to the New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York and the Hospital Professor Edmundo Vasconcelos Hospital in Brazil to learn rhinology and endoscopic skull base surgery. And he visited the Medical College of Wisconsin in USA and Chung Gang Memorial Hospital in Taiwan to learn about sleep apnea surgery.
Dr. Lee collaborate with neurosurgeons in the Prince of Wales Hospital and developed the first centre which provides endoscopic anterior skull base surgery service in Hong Kong since 2006.
Academically, Dr. Lee has contributed on 21 peer-reviewed articles, 2 book chapters and more than 50 local and international invited presentations. He is actively participating as the chief organizer or co-organizer of multiple conferences related to rhinology and sleep apnea surgery hold by the CUHK.
Biography
Dr. Liu started his career as a Diagnostic Radiographer after attaining Professional Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography (PDDR) from Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1989. Dr. Liu then attained the qualifications of Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in abdomen, obstetrics and gynaecology, vascular technology and neurosonology. Dr. Liu specialized in ultrasonography since 1994, and started his research studies in the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1995, and obtained MPhil and PhD in 1998 and 2003 respectively.
Dr. Liu is currently a Consultant Radiographer of Prince of Wales Hospital, and Adjunct Associate Professor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. For years, Dr. Liu contributes to the development of local sonographers’ scanning practice, has authored or co-authored many research papers in peer reviewed journals, and some book chapters. His research interests include vascular and musculoskeletal ultrasound, diabetic complications, obesity studies, and elastography.
Dr. Liu is now the Chairman of Ultrasonography Panel of Hospital Authority, and the Registration Committee member of the Hong Kong Radiographers Board.
Biography
Dr. Cakan graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa School of Medicine in Istanbul, followed by specialist training in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery at the Health Science University in Türkiye. Afterward he had advanced training in Neurootology in Seoul National University. He has performed hundreds of successful surgeries in 5 different countries. He is currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at The Chinese University of Hong Kong with research interests in neurotology.

Dr. Chan graduated from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine in London, followed by specialist training in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck surgery at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions with advanced training in Head and Neck surgery, microvascular reconstruction and robotics. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Chairman of the head and neck Surgery Board, Hong Kong College of Otolaryngologists. His research interests lie in early diagnosis and treatment of head and neck cancers, the microbiome in head and neck cancers and the application of robotics in Head and Neck Surgery.
