Born and raised in Seoul, Korea, Dr Jong Woo Chung graduated from the Seoul National University College of Medicine. He then pursued his medical residency and Ph.D. in Otolaryngology at the Seoul National University, where he trained in general otology, skull base surgery, and cochlear implantation. He moved to Asan Medical Center, University of Ulsan College of Medicine where he developed skull base surgery, audiology, and cochlear implantation, and started basic research of noise induced hearing loss.
The team for cochlear implantation started in 1999 pioneered by Dr. K-S Lee. The team has reached 1,500 cases in 2017 under Dr Chung’s leadership. He is now the chairman of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery.He served as the President of the Korean Audiological Society during 2014-2016 and the President of the Korean Skull Base Society during 2017.Along with his colleagues at Asan Medical Center, Dr Chung is conducting several clinical studies on sensorineural hearing loss, cochlear implantation, chronic ear disease, and otitis media of children.Recently, He is involved in the development of the robot surgery in ear surgery, artificial intelligence, and endoscopic ear surgery.Born and raised in Seoul, Korea, Dr Jong Woo Chung graduated from the Seoul National University College of Medicine. Dr Lai
graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2004. He completed his residency training in otorhinolaryngology in Hong Kong. His main interests are and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, and endoscopic ear surgery. He received his subspecialty training from attachments at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston and UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.Dr Lai actively participates in endoscopic ear surgery, facial palsy management and facial reanimation surgery.
Dr Willis TSANG graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1995. He became a Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Otorhinolaryngology in 2002.
Otology and related sciences is his main field of interest, especially in middle ear surgeries and in implantable hearing device surgeries.
He is one of the few pioneers in Hong Kong and Asia who mastered the Bone Anchoring Hearing Aid (BAHA) surgery and the Vibrant Soundbridge and the Bonebridge hearing devices implantation.
Dr TSANG is currently the Chief of the Division of Otology & Neurotology, Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Consultant of the ENT Department, NTEC.
