Born in Manila, Dr CESAR, went to medical school at the University of Santo Tomas and completed his residency in ENT at the University of the Phlippines - Philippine General Hospital, Department of Otorhinolaryngology. He did his fellowship at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary , Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in 1986. He was previous president of the Philippine Society of Otorhinolarynology-Head and Neck Surgery and the ASEAN Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as the Philippine Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

He is a full professor at the ENT-HNS department of the Far Eastern University Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation and an associate professor of the University of the Philippines Manila, College of Medicine.

He has published SCI included 76 articles, the cumulative impact factor of 267 points, of which the first author or correspondent authors on 36 articles, the total IF 182.33, the single highest IF > 10 (4), the highest single frequency of 85 times.

Dr Lim graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 1998. He underwent residency in Otolaryngology in Singapore and was awarded the Gold medal for the MRCS (Edinburgh) General Surgery examination in 2003 and subsequently the Gold medal award by the College of Surgeons for the best performing resident in the exit examination organized by the Specialist Training Committee in Otolaryngology in 2009.After completing his specialist training, he joined the Department of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery as an Associate Consultant. He started his practice and pursued further training in head and neck oncologic surgery at the National University Health System, Singapore. In 2010, he was awarded the Ministry of Health Overseas Training award and pursued a 2 year Head and Neck Oncologic Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in the United States of America. This fellowship is accredited by the Advanced Training Council of the American Head and Neck Society. During these 2 years, Dr Lim did translational benchwork research in immunotherapy in head and neck cancer, focusing of immunological mechanisms in monoclonal antibody based therapy in cancer and identifying novel immune modifiers in cancer therapy. In his clinical training, he was trained in transoral robotic surgery (TORS), minimally invasive video assisted thyroidectomy (MIVAT) and minimally invasive approaches in head and neck surgery, in addition to the major head and neck resections. Upon his return to Singapore in 2012, he was appointed Consultant in the Division of Surgical Oncology (Head and Neck Surgery), NCIS and Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, NUH as well as Assistant Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.His awards included the National Healthcare Group Clinical Research Scientist Leadership Award, best oral presentation for the Pitch for fund award and NHG Clinician scientist bronze award. He is the principal investigator in several grants looking at human papillomavirus in head and neck cancer and immune adjuvant in monoclonal antibody based therapy in head and neck cancer. In 2011, he was awarded the New Investigator Grant by the National Medical Research Singapore. In the area of research in robotic surgery, Dr Lim is actively collaborating iwth the acedemic staff from teh Faculty of Engineering National University of SIngapore and was the co-PI evaluating the key technologies for minimally invasive robotics surgery and navigation. Dr Lim has published in book chapters and numerous peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Chung-Kan Tsao completed the training of plastic surgery in the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan in 2002 and was promoted to the field of micro-transplant reconstruction of autologous tissue. Expertise is microsurgical reconstruction, especially the microssurgical reconstruction of the head and neck and esophagus. Since 2014, he has served as Chief of the Division of reconstructive microsurgery, Department of Plastic Surgery, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taipei.

From 2003 to December 2018, 1883 cases of microscopic flap transplantation have been completed, including more than 1700 cases of head and neck reconstruction, 102 cases of hypopharyngo-esophageal reconstruction, 30 cases of esophageal reconstruction for acoustic esophageal defect, and reconstruction of oral mucosal fibrosis for more than 51 cases. More than 60 papers have been published in international journals.

Dr. Tsao has been working with otolaryngology for a long time. In recent years, he has been actively improving the repair and reconstruction methods after total laryngectomy. The free anterolateral flap has been successfully revised (J- design thigh flap for simultaneous reconstruction of cervical esophagus and voice-tube speech) to complete the reconstruction of the esophagus and the voice tube, which helps the patient to restore the function of oral feeding, and also restore the function of speech communication.

Prof. Zhou conducted a general study of the endoscopic endonasal surgical technique on both the clinical and basic science aspects since 1992. He has completed more than 10,000 endoscopic sinus surgeries. Prof. Zhou is the one who has first reported the endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy surgery and introduced the endoscopic classification of frontal recess in China. He has also designed the endoscopic pre-lacrimal recess approach, which is now widely used both in China and abroad. In the recent decade, Prof. Zhou devotes himself to the study of skull base anatomy and surgery, the etiology and treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis (especially the refractory rhinosinusitis), as well as pediatric chronic rhinosinusitis. Based on his profound research work, Prof. Zhou has totally published more than 110 rhinology papers, including 33 SCI papers. He is the chief of the National Health and Family Planning Commission Otolaryngology Endoscopic Technique Specialist Committee, member of the Chinese Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery (chief of the Rhinology division), member and secretary-general of the Beijing Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. He is also the international member of the American Rhinology Society.

He received his Speech Pathology qualification at The University of Sydney, Australia and Masters in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Thomas is currently completing his PhD at the University of Sydney. Thomas has practiced in both Hong Kong and Sydney for 18 years. He works with both children and adults with a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders. He specializes in the area of stuttering, voice disorders and multilingual acquisition and its disorders.

Thomas is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist of the Speech Pathology Australia and a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Speech Therapists. He is on the Fluency Committee of the International Association of Logopedics and Phoniatrics, a consortium member of Lidcombe Program Trainers Consortium.

Thomas’ research includes intervention outcomes and epidemiology in both stuttering and voice disorders, topography and linguistic trigger of stuttering, and issues regarding perceptual evaluation of voice.

Dr. Dennis Lee graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1997 and he obtained the fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2005. Currently, he is in private practice and he is an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the CUHK.

Dr. Lee developed his special interests on rhinology, endoscopic skull base surgery in particular endoscopic nasopharyngectomy and surgery for sleep apnea. Dr. Lee had been to the New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York and the Hospital Professor Edmundo Vasconcelos Hospital in Brazil to learn rhinology and endoscopic skull base surgery. And he visited the Medical College of Wisconsin in USA and Chung Gang Memorial Hospital in Taiwan to learn about sleep apnea surgery.

Dr. Lee collaborate with neurosurgeons in the Prince of Wales Hospital and developed the first centre which provides endoscopic anterior skull base surgery service in Hong Kong since 2006.

Academically, Dr. Lee has contributed on 21 peer-reviewed articles, 2 book chapters and more than 50 local and international invited presentations. He is actively participating as the chief organizer or co-organizer of multiple conferences related to rhinology and sleep apnea surgery hold by the CUHK.

Professor Kathy Y.S. She is an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist who has participated extensively in designing the assessment and habilitation programs of various client groups since 1995. She has developed a number of validated tests including the Cantonese Receptive Vocabulary Test (CRVT), the Cantonese Basic Speech Perception Test (CBSPT), the Cantonese Tone Identification Test (CANTIT) and the Cantonese Spoken Word Recognition Test (CanSWORT). Before he moved to private practice, he was a consultant surgeon of the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery in Prince of Wales Hospital. He is also the Clinical Associate Professor (Honorary), Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Apart from general Ear, Nose and Throat practice, his special clinical interests include thyroid, salivary gland surgery, and also transoral laser surgery for pharyngeal/ laryngeal diseases. He is active in thyroid surgery and serves as an executive committee member of the Asia-Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery. He is one of the organisers and faculties in the annual CUHK Head and Neck Dissection and Reconstruction Hands-on courses since 2013.

He is also active in the field of sialendoscopy, a minimally invasive technique for obstructive salivary gland diseases. He has been a regular invited faculty in the training courses organised by the European Sialendoscopy Training Center in Geneva since 2013.

Dr Valerie Pereira is Senior Lecturer with the Department of Otorhinolarynlogy, Head & Neck Surgery (CUHK). She graduated from UCL with a Masters in SLT and obtained her PhD from the UCL Institute of Child Health (Lon). She has more than 15 years of clinical and research experience in Craniofacial conditions and was previously with the Supra-regional Craniofacial Unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital and the North Thames Regional Cleft Service in London. In Hong Kong, she also holds an Honorary Assistant Professor position with the Faculty of Dentistry (HKU) as the Speech Therapist for the Cleft and Nasendoscopy Clinics. Dr. Pereira has participated in voluntary Cleft work in Uganda, Sri Lanka, Venezuela and China. Her work has been published in journals and she has also co-authored book chapters on speech assessment in Cleft. She delivered the Braithwaite Oration at the 12th Indian Society of Cleft Lip, Palate and Craniofacial Society and was an invited speaker at the 11TH World Cleft Lip/Palate Congress Craniofacial Congress (Wuhan) and more recently in London at the RCSLT (UK) Cleft Clinical Excellence Network Study Day. She continues to serve on the Craniofacial Dysmorphias and Related Syndromes Committee for the International Association of Logopedics Phoniatrics.

Dr Alice K Y SIU graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in year 2005. After she attained her surgical fellowship in 2013, Dr SIU sub-specialises in paediatric otorhinolaryngology. She is a local expert in pediatric airway diseases, voice disorders and rare congenital ENT conditions. Dr SIU is active in introducing new and minimal invasive technologies into the pediatric group, such as endoscopic ear surgery and endoscopic airway reconstruction, as she believes in the preservation of growth potentials in children. Dr SIU teaches topics in pediatric airway, speech and language pathology in University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She is a regular tutor of the Institute of Advanced Nursing Studies of the Hong Kong Hospital Authorities and a surgical trainer of the Hong Kong College of Otorhinolaryngologists. In recent years, Dr SIU took part in charity missions for the Hear Talk Foundation, which aims at providing free otological surgery to underprivileged citizens in rural China.

Professor Michael C.F. Tong, a clinical professor and Chairman of Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, as well as the Director of the Institute of Human Communicative Research at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, is specialized in the fields of otology, neurotology and skull base surgery. Recently he is pioneering in development of advanced endoscopic ear surgery techniques. Paralleled with that, his interest has extended to the broader field of medicine – epidemiology and public Health especially in elderly health. Having led the clinical research team, he has numerous successful grants and over 190 peer-reviewed publications, which has resulted in a national and international reputation of his Department in the field of general otology, cochlear and auditory brainstem implantation and nasopharyngeal cancer research. Development of technical innovations for minimally invasive surgery in otorhinolaryngology, head and surgery has also been his recent interest. Professor Tong has also visited regional centres regularly in the past 25 years to share his clinical and surgical experience in hearing implants. He has organized a number of international conferences and co-founded the World Chinese Academy of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, which is responsible for inter- and intra- disciplinary academic communications, that runs biennial meeting in different cities in greater China. Apart from teaching, research and clinical work, Professor Tong advocates community service to educate the public on health issues related to ear, nose and throat. As Founder and Chairman of a non-profit organization, Hear Talk Foundation, he enlists voluntary service from the professionals offering service to the underprivileged. The Foundation operates regular charitable missions to mainland China to provide free medical and surgical treatment to the poor. He has established an organization, Asia Pacific Otorhinolaryngologic Surgical Training Group, to train otorhinolaryngology-head and neck surgeons in Asia-Pacific region. He is also leading the Department in swallowing research pioneering in the development of new and diagnostic therapeutic tools. In 2017, he co-chaired the organized the World Congress in Rhinology with IRS and ISIAN in Hong Kong.

Dr Willis TSANG graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1995. He became a Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Otorhinolaryngology in 2002.

Otology and related sciences is his main field of interest, especially in middle ear surgeries and in implantable hearing device surgeries.

He is one of the few pioneers in Hong Kong and Asia who mastered the Bone Anchoring Hearing Aid (BAHA) surgery and the Vibrant Soundbridge and the Bonebridge hearing devices implantation.

Professor Andrew van Hasselt received his medical training at The University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. In 1985 he was responsible for establishing the Division of Otorhinolaryngology in the Department of Surgery at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), stationed in the University’s teaching hospital, the Prince of Wales Hospital in the New Territories of Hong Kong. The Division has evolved into an independent academic Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at CUHK on 1st August 2007. He was appointed Chairman of this Department until 31st July 2015. He has devoted himself to research, integrating academic and clinical experience, while promoting academic exchange and contributing to the regional and international arenas. He is an advocate in minimally invasive surgical techniques in ENT, particularly in endoscopic sinus surgery and lasers in the airway. He is an Otologist of international acclaim with an abiding interest in hearing restoration. He has played a vital leadership role in disseminating surgical expertise in otology. He is passionate about the integration of academic and clinical experience and is widely recognized for innovation in his field. He has delivered numerous invited lectures in Otology and has published the two editions of the definitive work on “Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma”, reflecting his board interest across the field of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. Through both an interest in otology, temporal bone dissection and participation in courses, he has attained a high level of skill in otology microsurgery. He implanted the first bone conductor hearing aid into the skull of a patient in South East Asia and have since established a full adult and paediatric Cochlear Implant Programme (well over 600 cochlear implants have been performed to date.)

He is currently the Chief of division of head and neck surgery in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, CUHK and consultant head and neck surgeon in PWH. He is also the chief editor of “Head and Neck Dissection and Reconstruction Manual” published by CUHK in 2015. Aside from head and neck oncology surgery, he also interested in robotic and endoscopic surgery for head and neck disease.

Since 2008, he has developed a modified technique of uvulopalatopharyngoplasty and more than hundred cases has been performed with satisfactory results. Since 2013, more than 50 cases of midline glossectomy have been performed in one-stage multi-level soft tissue surgery for severe obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome. Most of the cases can achieve 70% improvement in overall sleep quality.

Dr Yeung specializes in head and neck cancer surgery and completed his 2-year post-fellowship training in head and neck cancer surgery at the Prince of Wales Hospital and United Christian Hospital in Hong Kong.

In 2015, Dr Yeung was awarded the Thomas Cheung Educational Fund Scholarship to undergo further study in head and neck cancer resection and reconstruction in Iowa, United States. In 2017, Dr Yeung was elected as the Distinguished Young Fellow of the Hong Kong College of Otorhinolaryngologists. In 2019, he was awarded the Hospital Authority Corporate Scholarship to study head and neck cancer surgery at the University of Cape Town with Prof Johannes Fagan.

Dr Kevin YUEN is an Associate Professor at the Department of Special Education and Counselling, Faculty of Education and Human Development, The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). He is also the Director of Integrated Centre for Wellbeing (I-WELL) of EdUHK. Dr Yuen was trained as a speech-language pathologist and an audiologist. He is an experienced clinical audiology especially in cochlear implants. Dr YUEN practiced at the Hospital Authority, local universities, and private sectors before he started his academic career in EdUHK. His research interests include the development of reliable speech recognition tests in quiet and in noise to evaluate the auditory processing abilities of children and adolescents with peripheral hearing impairments, central auditory processing disorders, and language learning disorders including specific language impairments and reading and writing disorders (dyslexia). His latest research developments are Cantonese Disyllabic Word Identification Test in Noise - Adaptive (CANDIWIT-N-A), Mandarin Spoken Word - Picture Identification Test in Noise - Adaptive (MAPID-A), and Cantonese Pediatric Lexical Tone Dichotic Listening Test (CaPeLeToDLT).
