Pereira博士在唇颚裂和颅面疾病领域已有超过20年的经验。她曾在设于英国NHS信托基金会大奥蒙德街儿童医院的跨区域颅面单位工作，随后加入了北泰晤士地区唇颚裂服务单位。她在英国伦敦大学学院儿童健康研究所取得博士学位，期间研究了正颚手术对语音结果的影响。Pereira博士现为国际言语与语言病理学协会（IALP）唇颚裂和颅面疾病委员会主席。她分别在2021年和2022年应邀参加了在土耳其和巴西举行的综合唇颚裂护理工作坊，并在2022年爱丁堡举行的第14届国际唇颚裂大会上担任全球唇颚裂语音工作组委员会成员。她最近获得香港政府医疗卫生研究基金的资助，构建一个全面的「粤语儿童颚裂/颚咽功能评估工具（PACS-C）」，工具将用于评估粤语儿童的言语和颚咽功能。
