Raymond is a speech-language pathologist who specializes in dysphagia and motor speech disorders. He worked in a tertiary teaching hospital for about 15 years and have a vast amount of clinical experience in managing patients across the age-spectrum and in different diseases. He completed his doctoral degree at the University of Queensland on dysphagia in patients with nasopharyngeal cancer. He has published extensively in the area of dysphagia in head and neck cancer patients, dysphagia service delivery and also in the area of dysphagia intervention in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. He has also received grants on fostering knowledge transfer and advancing dysphagia education. He currently serves as an assistant professor in the department and is responsible for teaching and research primarily in dysphagia, motor speech disorders. His ongoing research projects include intervention on dysphagia for patients with nasopharyngeal cancer, applicability of novel assessment techniques in dysphagia and the impact of soft meals in older adults.
