Pereira博士在唇顎裂和顱面疾病領域已有超過20年的經驗。她曾在設於英國NHS信託基金會大奧蒙德街兒童醫院的跨區域顱面單位工作，隨後加入了北泰晤士地區唇顎裂服務單位。她在英國倫敦大學學院兒童健康研究所取得博士學位，期間研究了正顎手術對語音結果的影響。Pereira博士現為國際言語與語言病理學協會（IALP）唇顎裂和顱面疾病委員會主席。她分別在2021年和2022年應邀參加了在土耳其和巴西舉行的綜合唇顎裂護理工作坊，並在2022年愛丁堡舉行的第14屆國際唇顎裂大會上擔任全球唇顎裂語音工作組委員會成員。她最近獲得香港政府醫療衞生研究基金的資助，構建一個全面的「粵語兒童顎裂/顎咽功能評估工具（PACS-C）」，工具將用於評估粵語兒童的言語和顎咽功能。
