言語語言病理理學碩士
Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology is the first postgraduate programme in Hong Kong offered by Faculty of Medicine of a recognized University to enable graduates to be qualified speech therapists.
Programme Highlights:
- First speech-language pathology programme in Hong Kong offered by Faculty of Medicine, which enables students’ access to patients in medical setting (e.g. CUHK Medical Centre), a wide range of medical equipment, collaborations, placement and research opportunities
- First speech-language pathology programme in Hong Kong pioneers the use of Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) as a standardized and competency-based pre-clinical assessment
- Utilization of innovative pedagogies including the Team-based Learning which provides an active and structured form of small group learning incorporating all relevant elements such as pre-class preparation, individual readiness assurance test (iRAT), team RAT (tRAT) and real case/ simulated case application
- Comprehensive clinical training including exposure to additional clinical areas including craniofacial anomalies, hearing impairment, working with ethnic minority children and families, etc.
- Interdisciplinary approach to provide exposures on different perspectives and methodologies

Professional Diploma in Communication Disorders and Sciences
The Professional Diploma Programme in Communication Disorders and Sciences features an interdisciplinary approach to Speech and Language Pathology. It introduces students to foundation knowledge and theories in linguistics, speech-language pathology, hearing sciences and anatomy and physiology, as well as providing students with an appreciation of the multidisciplinary team and clinical approaches in managing various groups with communication disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Speech Sound Disorder (SSD), Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), Craniofacial Disorder, Hearing Impairment, Motor Speech Disorder (MSD) and Fluency Disorder. The programme also aims to provide students with exposure to real clinical contexts and an appreciation of integrating theory to clinical practice.
Professional Diploma in Hearing Science and Rehabilitation
The Professional Diploma Programme in Hearing Science and Rehabilitation addresses the local urgent needs of trained practitioners to provide hearing rehabilitation services in the local primary healthcare settings. It introduces students to an organized systematic training in Hearing Sciences, Hearing Rehabilitation, and Communication Sciences to cater for the need for the Chinese population with hearing disorders. Our target is to train practitioners to support the local community.
